Recipe for Valentines Chocolate Fondue with Strawberries

This Valentines Chocolate Fondue with Strawberries is a quick and easy way to create a fabulous finale to a romantic dinner for two. The melted Sicilian dark almond chocolate, a renowned aphrodisiac for centuries, goes perfectly with the freshness and flavour of the strawberries. Our recipe is sure to awaken your senses, as well as your taste buds during your special Valentines Day celebrations.

Ingredients for two people

200g Almond Modican Chocolate

150 ml double cream

2 tbsps of brandy/your choice of liqueur

14 strawberries

Method

Begin by melting the chocolate using the ‘bain marie’ method. Break the chocolate into pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl. Fill a small pan half full with water and sit the dish on the top of the pan. The dish should not touch the water. Place the pan on a low heat. Stir the chocolate constantly. Make sure that the water in the bottom of the pan does not come to the boil while the chocolate is melting and that no drops of water go into the chocolate.

Add the double cream and stir well into the chocolate with a wooden spoon.

Add the brandy, or another liqueur of your choice, stir and continue cooking for a few minutes over low heat until the chocolate mixture becomes nice and velvety.

Once ready, turn off the heat. If you are using a fondue set, transfer the chocolate into the fondue pot and place over the heat to keep warm. If not just dip the washed and dried whole strawberries (with the stalks still attached) one by one into the creamy chocolate and enjoy!
